Chief Justice Rose announced today that the Court will release decisions in the pending ballot question cases on Friday afternoon. "We know that election officials, the parties and the public are anxiously awaiting the results of these very important cases," said Chief Justice Bob Rose. "The court is therefore announcing its intention to file the opinions tomorrow." The Nevada Supreme Court heard oral argument on August 23rd in four cases challenging the placement of various initiatives on the November ballot. Since the arguments two weeks ago, the court has been focused on researching and writing these critical decisions. "The short ballot timelines put a great strain on the court’,s resources and those of the county clerks, but we are doing our best in a difficult situation," the Chief Justice noted. The court's opinions are posted on the internet within 30 minutes of filing. Those interested in reading the opinions may obtain them from the Nevada Supreme Court’s website: www.nvsupremecourt.us.
