State Court Administrator Ron Titus has announced that Robin Sweet has been promoted to Deputy Director of Planning & Analysis and Court Services at the Administrative Office of the Courts, a department of the Supreme Court. She is one of two deputy directors at the AOC.
Ms. Sweet began her career at the AOC in 2000 as the Court Research Analyst for the Uniform System for Judicial Records statistical reporting project, compiling data that was used as the basis for the judiciary's first Annual Report in 2000, and the publishing of annual reports every year since. In addition to overseeing the statistical project, her new duties will involve such programs as the Court Improvement Project, domestic violence projects, and rural court activities. She will also be a member of the team monitoring and tracking legislation. "Robin demonstrated her abilities as Court Research Analyst, where her primary duty was implementing and overseeing the Uniform System for Judicial Records," said Titus. "As Deputy Director, she can use her skills to help Nevada's judiciary continue its march forward into what I consider its most productive and progressive era ever." "I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to helping with the changes and challenges facing the judicial branch," said Ms. Sweet, who filled a position that had been vacant for several months. As Court Research Analyst, Ms. Sweet was involved in a variety of studies and reports, involving such issues as adoption, high-interest loan case filings, bond forfeitures, murder and voluntary manslaughter cases, rural court workloads, and domestic violence. She has staffed court-related committees and represented the judicial branch on the Governor's Joint Information Center, Public Information Officer Committee, which was commissioned following the Nevada anthrax scare several years ago. Before joining the AOC, Ms. Sweet was employed by the U.S. Geological Survey as Technical Publication Editor and Outreach Coordinator. A native of Hawthorne, Nevada, she earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and her master's degree in public administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
