Governor Jim Gibbons has appointed Las Vegas attorney Michael Villani and Chief Deputy Clark County District Attorney David Barker to fill the two seats at the Eighth Judicial District Court (Clark County) that became vacant with the elections of Judges Michael Cherry and Nancy Saitta to the Nevada Supreme Court. The appointments were made on Monday, March 19.
Mr. Villani will succeed Justice Cherry in Department 17 while Mr. Barker will follow Justice Saitta on the bench in Department 18.
No dates have been set for the new appointees to join the bench.
