The Nevada Supreme Court has cancelled the Public Administrative Meeting scheduled for this Friday at 2:00 p.m., and rescheduled it for Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. On the agenda are proposed amendments to Supreme Court Rule 217 to convert the existing IOLTA "opt-out" program to a "comprehensive" program. Possible amendments to the Nevada Short Trial Rules and a general discussion concerning the Nevada Judicial Council are also scheduled. A formal notice will issue at a later date.
The public hearing scheduled for Friday, December 14, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. will go forward as scheduled. On the agenda for that meeting are the Final Report and Recommendations of the Supreme Court Indigent Defense Commission. The hearing will be held in the Clark County Regional Justice Center, 17th Floor, and will be video-conferenced to the Supreme Court in Carson City. The agenda also includes discussion of the Minority Report submitted by Washoe and Clark County management and Judge Stewart Bell's Minority Report.
