Bar Admission Ceremony for Successful February 2008 Exam Applicants
Monday, 28 April 2008 13:07

The Supreme Court of Nevada has scheduled a bar admission ceremony for new lawyers. Chief Justice Gibbons will administer the oath of attorney to successful applicants for the February 2008 Nevada Bar Examination on May 5th in Carson City.

Applicants who passed the February 2008 bar examination are eligible to participate in the ceremony, provided that they have met all admissions requirements. Applicants "on hold" have not met all requirements for admission and may not participate in the ceremony.

New admittees participating in the admission ceremony must arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins and must check in with the Supreme Court Clerk prior to the ceremony. The clerk will collect oaths of attorney and register the lawyers taking the oath. Special seating is reserved for the new lawyers apart from the general audience.

The Washoe County Bar Association will host a reception immediately following the ceremony in the rotunda of the Nevada Supreme Court. Parking is available in the lot on Stewart Street east of the courthouse and the parking garage at the corner of 5th and Stewart Streets south of the courthouse.

Family and friends of the new admittees are welcome at both the ceremony and reception.
