The Commission to Amend the Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct will hold its first meeting on September 8, 2008. The September 8th meeting is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. and will be held in the Nevada Supreme Court’,s Las Vegas Courtroom. The meeting will be video-conferenced to the Carson City Courtroom. The Commission meeting is open to the public. For details concerning the meeting, please refer to the meeting agenda. The Commission is charged with conducting the first comprehensive evaluation of the Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct since its adoption in 1991. An examination of the 2007 ABA Model Code will be conducted. The end product of the Commission’,s work will be a proposed new Code of Judicial Conduct for Nevada. Nevada Supreme Court Justice A. William Maupin is chairing the Commission and Janette M. Bloom, the recently retired Supreme Court Clerk, is Commission Counsel.
