Effective January 1, 2009, when traveling for business or judicial related purposes and using your own vehicle for the Court's convenience, the mileage reimbursement rate will decrease to 55 cents per mile. If judicial officers or employees travel for judicial or business related purposes and use their own vehicle for their own convenience, the Court will reimburse the judicial officer or employee 27.25 cents per mile in lieu of the higher rate. An example of when the 27.25 cents per mile rate would be used would be if the traveler drove a long distance when it would have been cheaper to fly. As a result of the rate changes, the travel claim form, the travel claim instructions, and the request to travel worksheet have been updated.
