Tuesday, 27 March 2012 00:00

During the first quarter of 2012, the Court Improvement Program has focused on four primary initiatives:  guiding implementation of the Community Improvement Councils’ (CIC) action plans; collaborating with statewide partners to develop a comprehensive CIP Strategic plan for 2012-2014; writing and submitting the CIP Grant Application for the three CIP grants, Basic, Training, and Data; and advancing the educational stability provisions of the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008 (P.L. 100-351).

The CIP Select Committee approved the submission of the CIP Grant Application for the three CIP grants, Basic, Training, and Data.  The Grant was submitted to the Children’s Bureau on February 24, 2012, nearly a week prior to being due. These funds are earmarked specifically for improving the functioning of courts handling neglect and abuse cases.
