The Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Program has achieved a performance marker in its implementation of the program by awarding a training contract to a nationally recognized and highly respected service provider, The Alarcon Group, LLC.  The Alarcon Group specializes in foreclosure mediation curriculum for education and training purposes.   Three one-day training sessions have been scheduled to cover subject matter knowledge in foreclosure mediation, advanced mediation techniques and mediator skills. 

Applications to serve as a mediator were evaluated under the program’s rules that establish criteria for eligibility to serve as a panel mediator.  The Court has initially approved the qualifications of settlement conference judges, senior judges, and applicants from other disciplines who have extensive mediation and ADR training and experience.  The first 100 of those qualified were invited to attend the mandatory training required to obtain final appointment as panel mediator for the program. The initial training sessions are scheduled for August 5, August 6 and August 7 and are exclusive to those applicants that received appointment.

Mediator recruiting and training are on-going.  As more mediators are qualified, additional and more detailed training sessions will be presented in the Fall.
