Rural Courts Video Conferencing Project
The Court Video Conferencing Program is being managed by the Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), Information Technology (IT) Division. The program originated from a statewide technology needs inquiry by Justice Mark Gibbons and Former State Court Administrator, Ron Titus. The intent of the program is to promote installation of video conferencing equipment throughout the courts in the state of Nevada.

Since the inception of the program, there have been opportunities for AOC to request and receive grant funding and coordinate with courts throughout Nevada to install video equipment in individual courts. The AOC has coordinated two projects using grant funding from the Court Improvement Program (CIP) and has coordinated one project using grant funding from the LRIS Public Service Grant Program from the State Bar of Nevada. These projects have facilitated installation of video equipment in Humboldt County District Court, White Pine County District Court, Elko County District Court, Mineral County District Court, Nye County District Court in Tonopah, Pershing County District Court, Nye County District Court in Pahrump, New River Justice Court in Fallon, and Carson City Justice/Municipal Court. The IT Division is managing a current project using CIP grant funding that will facilitate installation of video equipment in Washoe County Family Court, Douglas County District Court, Lyon County District Court and PC video conferencing equipment for five social workers working for Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) in rural areas.
