Supreme Court considering amendments to Foreclosure Mediation Rules

Public hearing on proposed amendments: July 9, 2012, at 3 p.m.

Deadline for written comments: July 3, 2012, at 5 p.m.

The Nevada Supreme Court will conduct a public hearing on Monday, July 9, 2012, regarding proposed amendments to the Foreclosure Mediation Rules.

Supreme Court Justice Nancy Saitta Honors Virginia City High Schoolers For NASA Moonbuggy Competition

Justice Nancy Saitta presented an award from the Nevada Supreme Court to honor the Virginia City High School team that competed for the first time in NASA’s Great Moonbuggy Race at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

The team of seven students and their instructor, Ric Schrank, placed third in the rookie category in the 19th Annual competition that is open to high schools, colleges and international teams.  The students are Matthew Roberts, Jenna Burns, Thomas Webster, Jake Potter, Sam Hunter, Nathanael Fuller, and Beau Biederman.
 
Only one attorney applies to succeed District Judge David Huff in Churchill County
The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection has received a single application for appointment to fill the vacancy at the Tenth Judicial District Court that resulted from the death of District Judge David Huff, Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Cherry announced.

 That application for the seat in Churchill County came from Churchill County Deputy District Attorney Thomas L. Stockard.
